Welcome to the Press Club Hyderabad. The blogspot has been initiated as part of the ongoing efforts of the Executive Committee to make The Club a home away from home for the members. The club is being renovated with all new interiors and exclusive premises for various sections. The renovation process is expected to be completed by the end of January, 08. After the renovation is completed we wish to take up activities to promote adacemic and recreational needs of the members. On behalf of the Executive Committee I request you to provide suggestions so that the Club becomes one of the best places in the city. This blog will also help reach the journalists across the globe.

Nice effort!! Expect the Club undergoes some great changes.
good idea, (not mobile). hope this will be used for positive purposes and exclusively for the benefit of writers and readers. to make this a popular site, we should speak extensively about it among friends and fellow journalists.

Good Effort indeed. Here are some suggestions.
1. Revitalise the library. Get all newspapers / magazines. Install a TV with headphones so that a member can watch his favourite programme. Do not allow members to have a drink in library.
2. Provide internet facility free of cost. Get four of five monitors and get them networked on a single CPU. Web surfing can be monitored to ensure that nothing objectionable is browsed.
3. Make the Club premises wi-fi enabled. It would not cost much. Perhaps Rs 6000 to Rs 8000. Let the message spread that a journalist can sit in the lawn and file his story.
4. Revive the website and popularise it. This is the best way of making its presence felt all over the world.
5. Open a suggestions counter / register separately for improvement of facilities at the club. (Let the Bar Complaints Register be separate). Let the members be given a chance to come up with a constructive suggestion.
6. Let there be a board displaying the day's menu with rates. Or Let the staff carry print outs of the menu with rates.
7. Streamline parking on the club campus.
8. Let the Club store different brands of cigarettes in good quantities. Not just one pack or two.
9. Revive Movie screening. Let the members bring their own DVDs for screening. However, you can insist that the member should register himself for getting the DVD. Some of our members have excellent collections and taste.
10. REDUCE LIQUOR RATES.
not so regular visitor, has more suggestions about the bar and smoke. this is the impression we have given about the press club. in fact, we should work hard (may be labour a little) to remove the bar opinion. of course, he also suggested about the parking, which really need attention.

I thought not-so-regular-visitor made some valid points. Only two of them pertained to the bar. Surprising that a member finds it different and is concerned about the image of the club being a watering hole only.
In fact, eight of his suggestions pertain to removing the general impression that the club is only a place to have some drinks.
Anyways, is the club management taking any positive decisions with regard to suggestions?

Why don't you try to popularize this blog as that TELUGU TV NEWS? That was a great hit and they have two websites now.. why don' our members ask their help in giving publicity to our blog? They can keep a link to our blog. that doesn't cost them anything. they a very good technical team also to run the blog, i think. i hope, the guys running that blog are our club members also. make a request to them once and lets see the result.
